I was privileged to read these stories prior to their release, and found them all thought-provoking and enthralling. The published versions are better polished and even more appealing than the drafts I saw. Mozart continues with these stories what he began with his earlier book, "Leap Day," though the seven tales collected here tend to be darker that those in his earlier collection. That does not, however, mean that they're not entertaining -- "Jimbo" actually made me laugh quite a bit, until I was emotionally clobbered by the shocking ending. "Jimbo" and "Doodlebug" had the greatest emotional effect on me and are, IMHO, the best stories in the collection; but I like them all very much.If you appreciate good speculative fiction, grab yourself a copy. Then take a look at "Leap Day." Both are well worth the price, and you owe it to yourself to get to know Mozart and his unique worlds.
