When i first had kids it was a moment that scared the crap out of me. It was a what do i do now thought as soon as i got to see my new babies face. The love i felt was secondary to how the heck do i take care of this new little person. Reading this for any new father can help elevate those first fears and help the love become first instead of the initial fear of what do I do now. Enjoy the read!
What a great book. I have one kid of my own and married a woman with 3 boys and I wish I had bought this book earlier. I had no idea what I was getting into. Kids can be amazing but also a source of upsets if things are not flying. This books gave me great informations on how to set up and behave with your kids.
I see so many parents struggling. The book is very easy to read and very complete. Highly recommend it !
Having a child away from home is the hardest thing I have done, with out my mother or sisters around to "help out" or give advice... well, I had my sisters in law but is never the same... I wish I had this book before I had my child! she is now almost 4 but I can still learn a few things from it. It is really great the way Dare describes the whole process and I think he is correct in most of it, specially the agreements between parents and all the preparations. I appreciate this book very much and I recommend that every one reads it, not only if you are going to have a child but if you are an uncle or aunt or brother or sister or mother or father... you get the idea ) It will give you some nice tools for life and you can always help others by having this knowledge.
Being a parent is the most amazing and rewarding experience ever. Yet there are things that can happen that could take away some of the joy of this experience. Its great to have a simple book written by an actual father to share knowledge for the new parents so they can take the most out of the experience of parenting. This author is one of the smartest and funniest I've ever known, so totally recommended.
Just starting in this new and exciting journey, this book gave me good pointers on where to start and how to prepare for my baby, I'm glad I read it before she was born, I didn't realize all the prparations you need before the baby is here, also, the author is very real and entretaining so it is not boring at all, thanks Dare for sharing your experience and recommendations.
CLUELESS PARENT is the most thoughtful, elegant compilation of early parenting advice I've ever read. It's not just a book about learning how to care for a newborn; it's a breakdown of the expectations parents have of both themselves and each other once the reality of children comes into play. Meeting expectations is one of the most challenging parts of being a new parent, and the book does a great job of explaining how and why. In addition to covering basic parental skills, it's about growing and strengthening all the relationships in your family--as that same family expands. It's a great read for both expectant/new families, but also for parents like myself with younger children who discover new and exciting challenges every day. Highest recommendation.
